I had surgery and my steroids have dried my milk up 100%…. It feels like a losing fight no matter how much a pump it just hurts at this point and the steroid is known for its drying properties…. Once I stop the steroids can you regain your milk? Even partially? Open to all advice, I wasn’t ready to stop😭

I went to an event with a couple of IBCLCs and they said that the milk never go away fully once you start lactating. Her kid was a teen and she was still able to hand express milk. 🤯 I recommend finding a good lactation consultant for support. You’ve got this!

I stopped feeding my daughter on 3 occasions for 6-8 days each time. My milk never dried up. Hand express.
I then stopped feeding at 16 months and she's just turned two last weekend and can still get a tiny amount of milk out when I squeeze my nipple x

Yes, you should be able to get it back after you stop the steroids.
