Braxton hicks is tightening of your bump and will be uncomfortable but shouldn’t hurt!
Hiccups are small rapid movements that occur in a rhythmic pattern over and over again in the same position for a few minuets whereas kicks or movements are sporadic.

Yes Braxton hicks you'll feel in your lower abdomen very similar to cramps which is why they call them false contractions. Hiccups will feel like the baby keeps kicking very small movements barely there movements that are rhythmic patterns. Think about how you involuntarily jump or move when you have hiccups.

thank you, I feel both and though we’re just kicks. Now I know the difference. Never knew the hiccups

yes hiccups are totally normal and are actually a very good way to know your baby’s diaphragm is working and they’re practising their breathing skills x

Just a heads-up, as baby gets bigger the hiccups gets bigger and can be confused with irregular kicking which can be kinda scary, just figured I'd lyk before hand bc the other day my baby was hiccuping and it scared me a little bc it hadn't happened in a while so they were strong hiccups given his size, went to get checked out only to find it was hiccups lol (I'm 38wks so it might be different for you)

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
