I love my daughter so much, she’s my absolute world, but I’m really starting to hate being mum.
Im mentally and physically exhausted. Since she’s been born I’ve not had any time where it’s just me, doing whatever I want to do to make me feel good. I do everything for her. Sort her meals & bottles, wash the bottles, make sure she’s clean, her clothes, nap time, up through the night etc. as well as majority of the housework. I’m drained.
From this I’ve started to hate playing with her, I dread putting her down for a nap incase she fights it, everything I once loved is now feeling like a chore.
No matter how many times I tell my partner or how many times he hears/sees me struggle, he never helps out more, it’s still me doing everything while I get to watch our daughter smile and laugh with her daddy who’s sat their playing with her 😭

It’s hard but it gets better I have a 10 month old and a 3 year old baby stage in general is a chore but once the wee one gets on the feet and is off bottles you will feel such a weight lifted off ur shoulder ur doing brilliant💕 even if there are any grandparents/siblings etc to help out with taking her a few hours every so often I don’t know what I’d of done without them

I feel exactly the same. The constant fighting naps, washing, cleaning, making food for him to just throw on the floor, the constant trying to climb on me and not play with any of his toys. And don’t get me started on his separation anxiety, like he literally screams the house down if I leave for a second. I find I’m like a zombie and just following the motions coz I have to.
I’m really not sure how people say they enjoyed the baby stage, but I clearly have a clingy, needy baby and every day is a struggle.
No advice but I hope it gets better!

I understand how you feel, I have days like this but they are very dependent on how my lo is doing (at the moment he's very grumpy and whinging alot which I find very draining) and I also dread every naptime because he kicks off so much it's exhausting. I can't wait for him to be able to communicate his needs to me instead of whinging about everything I try and do with him 😅 My partner is amazing and I still feel exhausted. On bad days I'm really looking forward to going back to work but on good days I know I feel the opposite. Maternity leave has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. As Jacqueline said about the weight coming off with certain milestones, I'm really looking forward to getting rid of bottle washing!!!

There's no shame in not enjoying being a mom all the time. I will admit sometimes I wonder why I thought I could do it! Social media shows happy mom's and happy babies but it's only a snippet of a day. I think some of us underestimated how hard and draining it would be but I'm hoping in time it will get easier 😂 I will pray for us😂😂😂
If you are struggling and think you may have postnatal depression/anxiety there is help out there, again no shame! We are all human and are trying our best ❤️

Sounds like burn out. I had it with my first, but never have had it with the other 3.
So I always tell my friends and family, I’m happy to babysit so you can have a couple hours to do some self care.
Do you have anyone in your life that can do that?
For those that don’t I’m tempted to open up a drop in day care so they can drop off for 1-2hrs and get a break. 😅 seems the ones that need it never have the option.
