I'm curious what everyone's routine is around bedtime and what time you do this.
We had a great sleeper 10pm - 6am then feed and back down until 8am until the 4 month regression and now she sleeps a 3/4hr stretch then is up every 2hrs for food/settling.
We keep starting to implement a routine but then lack consistency, due to it being so early and neither or us are ready for bed at 7.30/8 and often haven't even eaten.
When we do it we do bath, massage, jammies book, bottle or boob and sleep. But sometimes she just has jammies, sleepbad and feeds to sleep downstairs until we're ready to go up.
The problem I have is that I don't feel comfortable leaving her on her own to sleep even with a monitor and I also don't want to go to bed at 7.30 or 8pm. As I said often we haven't even eaten then as one of us will have gone to the gym or done something in the evening.
I also don't like putting her down too early because the past 5 weeks she generally sleeps around 3/4hrs before her first feed then 2hrly after and if it's half 7 sometimes it's before I've even fallen asleep, I'm also not a morning person so i like that she keeps sleeping until around 9 if she goes to bed around 9/10 of she goes to sleep earlier then she's up earlier.
My partner is saying we are being lazy and need to get her to go to sleep earlier and in her bed rather than the sofa but he also doesn't want to leave her on her own, and he's also not the one doing all the night feeds (he does his share in the weekends but when hes up for work at 5am I let him sleep in the spare room) so I'm curious what others do? Do you just go to bed that early and have no evening, or do you take them down again with you?

I do the same really. I put him down to sleep in his nest around 8 and he sleeps in that until I give him a dream feed around midnight and we then go up to bed and generally sleeps until 7ish where he gets a bit restless, he comes into the bed with me and he’ll sleep to around 9. I do this as when I go back to work I don’t finish until midnight, so at least he is kinda in my routine for going back, his dad also gets up early for work so that’s why I keep him down stairs so my husband doesn’t get woke up if he starts crying. No idea if this is right or not but I’ve been doing the same x

My daughter goes to bed at 7pm with a video monitor on her. Generally will wake up 7am.

She won’t be small for long x just keep feeding her wherever she needs it even if you haven’t fallen asleep and V she still thrive from that
Mine was sleeping through but now up almost every hour from 11
I make sure when she’s gone to sleep in b the next to me that I go to sleep pretty quickly after as for now I know I won’t be getting much sleep
I’ve found bringing her into bed with me for a couple of hours from her morning feed at around five am helps slightly :)
Also sometimes if she’s getting loads of daily stimulation out and about they’re too busy taking that all in to feed so they make it up by eating loads at night but it’s mostly developmental :)
thanks! I agree they're not small for long and I also read that they're taking so much in in the day that they get distracted from food so need more and night and it makes total sense I don't really mind that at all, I also bring her into bed with me around 6am as I've found the same, and I love her being next to me! Same as the contact naps - I'll miss them so much when she no longer wants to sleep on me!
My only question really is really about bed times and what people do because I'm not comfortable with her being asleep in a different room to me even with a monitor x

Our LG falls asleep after screaming about 1am for the night. She will sleep for 9 hours solid but sometimes if she's still sleeping after ten hours we wake her up. It's gone from 4am so we are getting there. We leave her downstairs in moses basket for an hour to relax and chill then all upstairs. But soon she will be taken to her cot as she is outgrowing her basket. There's no right or wrong do what works and feels comfortable xx

I bath my son at 6.30, massage and bottle and he’s usually asleep by 7pm in his cot with a baby monitor ( me and my husband have tea and usually we are in bed by 9.30 as he works 7.30 - 5.30 ) we used to wake him to feed at 10.30 but I once fell asleep and he didn’t wake up until 6.30. So now he sleeps 7-6.30 x

My baby just cries if I try and put her in the cot so normally I will have dinner, clean my teeth etc then cuddle her to sleep about 7.30 then when she’s sleep I will put her in her cot about 8.15 and go to bed myself then too. I’ve always been an early sleeper but also knowing she will be awake at like 12 anyway just makes me think at least I could get a few hours rather than scrolling my phone like I do all day 😂

Yea we live in a cabin my partner built at the moment and we only have one room!! She goes down naturally about 9 usually but has become a little sooner recently about between 7:30 and 9 ? Xx:) yes I’ll miss the contact naps ! And her tiny tiny toes
