Night feeds - formula fed baby

Just wondered what everyone is doing for night feeds for their little one?

Our baby is solely formula fed - we started on SMA Pro but after weeks of tummy issues and sleepless nights we’ve recently switch to C&G comfort and started swaddling baby. Since we’ve switched formula and started swaddling our little boy is now very reluctant to wake up for night feeds and the last few nights we’ve had a good 4/5 hour stretch before he even stirs (he was waking up at least every 3 hours before, if we got any sleep at all…)

He barely lost any weight at birth and has had good gains since. I just wondered whether I should be waking him up or letting him sleep? There is so much mixed advice that I’m not sure what to do for the best!

How old is your little one. As mine is 3 weeks and I've been told to leave her until she tells me she's hungry. But don't leave her no more than 5.5 hours tops. And thats because she's a very good weight. Not lost any since birth. But dont leave any longer than that as if leave them to just sleep they won't have the energy to properly wake up without the feed ...
Regarding waking up. I was told with my little one cos she was same. Change their bum. Or strip them off to wake them up. Then feed them. Doesn't always work every time with my little one but 9/10 it does. Hope this helps xx

I used change her bum first if didn't wake for feed. Now she starting to wake up herself up for feed 3/4 hours. I was told to change her milk as she on cow and gate but if I do she don't settle on any other milk. They say shouldn't matter coz it's all the same. But im having the opposite now she will not settle at night takes me hours sometimes to get to sleep. But try changing there bum first see that helps xx

I’m mixed feeding, mainly breastfeeding, at the moment and we were exactly the same, got told by the midwives to wake our little one every 4 hours, then got told we should’ve been waking him every 3, then got told we should be letting him sleep through! It was so confusing. We just did what they said at the time but we stopped waking him every 3 hours when he was around 3 weeks old as that’s when they said to let him sleep through, he had also got back to his birth weight by then and since we stopped waking him he has continued to weight gain. Through the day he will go about 2-3 hours between feeds but overnight is the only time he can go longer than 3 hours as missing 1 feed doesn’t make a different with his weight gain. I guess it all depends on how old your baby is and the amount of weight they’ve lost since birth but I’m definitely no expert. I would probably just take the latest advice you’ve been given, as confusing as it is, or speak to your health visitor or midwife 😊

Were using sma pro & having issues 😩 i was debating on changing too but not sure what to

if you’ve tried everything else and spoken to your health visitor/ midwife I would recommend. We tried absolutely everything after being told not to change his milk and nothing worked so in the end we did and honestly he’s like a different baby.

@Charlotte that's bit like me I try everything the health visitor told me to change it. She won't take powder milk. If I do she won't settle afterwards. If I try something new she like that. And hv said there's no reason why she shouldn't take powder stuff coz it's all the same.

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

He use to sleep through the night now he is waking up every single night in the early morning, I've had to transition him to a toodler bed as he kept climbing out his cot. When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
