2 week joy & struggle

I haven’t been on here in months ..last was Feb.. went through a bit of a tough time but im trying again need more friends im still new.
Baby girl arrived the 17th is beautiful, big brother is settling into his role but mama is struggling. Baby girl cries ALOT, takes a while and it’s taking a toll on top of breastfeeding. ANY SUGGESTIONS for soothing or trying to start up a schedule!? Cutie is only quiet is when her big brother talks to her after a morning feeding😂🫶🏾 love it but can’t be the only regular quiet time. She has a seat a rocker a swing a snoo everything is like 20 mins tops then I have to pick her up and carry her to get anything done completely opposite of my first baby 😂

Can I just say your title sums it all up perfectly. “Joy & Struggle” that is exactly how I feel. Trying to soak in all the joy and remember that the struggles will soon pass.

I will say that now that it’s been about a month and I am getting more comfortable patterns and “routines” will kind of take shape on their own. It will never be exactly the same every single day but keeping it as consistent as possible has helped especially at bed time.

I wish I could offer better advice or something that would be more helpful I’m a first time mom of a 4 week old who can be pretty fussy herself. She is too little to even use any of the carriers, bouncers, etc. so we are always holding her or getting small stretches of naps.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you’re not alone! And you’re doing a great job. We’re all in this together. 🤍

Omg this photo!! 🤍🤍 Completely adorable.

I would try recording her brother and then play it when she needs to be soothed.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Bedtime routine

I have a 12 week old and we struggle to get him to sleep in his next to me crib or Moses basket, so he sleeps in bed with us which means we’re struggling to have a bedtime routine as he won’t sleep till i go to bed with him.
Any suggestions please as he doesn’t sleep till around 11/12
