Does anyone know why my LO may be doing this? He is 4 and a half months old (corrected 3 and a half months) and for the past week or so on tummy time he immediately pulls his arms back behind him whereas he used to lie pushing down on his forearms for ages. He has rolled over from front to back a few times when he was still using his forearms but since bringing his arms out he hasn’t done it again.
Anyone know what’s going on here?

Mine did this to prepare for crawling, apparently strengthens their back 🙂

ah okay! So I shouldn’t worry that he’s stopped rolling then?

I wouldn’t personally, mine did the same for a few weeks when they were focusing on crawling and then went back to focus on rolling 🙂

thank you!!!

My little girl is doing exactly the same right now. She’s 5 months next week x

Same here! I read it’s good for the development of the correct spine shape when they start doing the swimming/superman pose during tummy time

What does the corrected age mean? I’ve seen this a few times

so my baby was born at exactly 36 weeks so they class him as 4 weeks early. For developmental stages etc they give him a kind of grace period of 4 weeks

My son did the same, he's 5 months now and rolls everywhere. I don't think it's anything to worry about 😊
