Midwife led units/birth centres

I believe being induced you have 1-1 care and are on the obstetric ward due to having the labour artificially started. I was told baby will need to be monitored more closely during inductions. It might be different in your hospital but if you have any questions, I’d speak to your medical lead x

I’ve read that while being induced your on the labour ward with other women who are being induced and once active labour starts depending on circumstances you can go to the midwife led or go to a labour suite (depending on room) I’m high risk so will probably end up kept on the labour ward

They won't induce on a MLU that will be a labour ward.

How big is bigger? If still on the chart just means larger but not over sized. My midwife at the mlu said I can push back if he is bigger and tell them I want to go there.

You don't have to be induced at all. It's your choice.

Also bear in mind growth scans can be inaccurate up to 20% and the fundal height is even worse. Cx

You need to ask your MW or look at the services in your area as they all have different rules. For instance some ladies here have said you can’t be induced on a MLU. My nearest MLU is within the hospital. I wasn’t able to use it with last birth, I was induced via the syntocinon drip. I was told if I didn’t need the drip and used other non hormonal methods eg balloon, rods, then I could have this on the induction ward within the hospital then once labour was established I could have gone to the MLU. Unfortunately I did need the drip but for me it wasn’t true that I could only use the MLU if going into spontaneous labour.

I was induced with my first and that meant my care was transferred to labour ward. You can still request an active birth but you'll need to be monitored.
