Marijuana and breastfeeding

FYI I do not smoke! I haven’t in a year! But I’m thinking about starting back on my birthday. I know it’s not safe to do it while breastfeeding which is not the plan. But I wanna know how long is stays in your breast milk? My baby will be 7 months around my birthday and I plan on bottle feeding more than breastfeeding, but just to be safe I wanna know how long would I have to wait after using marijuana?

Why not just wait until you’ve finished your breastfeeding journey? It’s only a short time in the grand scheme of things and if you aren’t smoking now surely you can go without a little longer? Its what I’m having to do with eating dairy and spicy foods 😜

Unfortunately the research just isn't clear, due to small sample sizes and the fact that cannabinoids are very diverse in their affects as the cannabinoid system is subject to a lot of individual differences. The current state of research is entirely mixed, experts are simply unsure as to wether or not it is safe and err on the side of caution by saying it is not.

That said, we do know that THC and CBD do bind to fat cells, so unfortunately, unlike things like nicotine, caffeine and alcohol which are not stored in fat, and upon reaching the end of their half life in the blood are also gone from breastmilk, theoreticaly, cannabis will stay in milk for much longer, likely several weeks, due to being present in fat stores.

This means the amount present in milk is subject to a build up effect. So one single smoke will steadily leave your body over time, but smoking regularly will steadily increase the amounts present in your milk.

They say it’s better to drink/smoke while pumping :) I’d do your own research there are ALOT of cannamoms out there that breastfeed!🥰

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

Am I wrong?

I’ve been wanting to add more garden beds to my garden. Husband says “hey do you want to go to Home Depot to get that wood for the garden beds.” Cool I’m excited I’ve been wanting to get this done for awhile.

We get there and we’re picking out wood and I make 2 comments about how I don’t like how 2 pieces of wood look that he picked out. And he says if you’re going to be this picky then u can do this yourself.

I literally made 2 comments and mind you I’m the one paying for the wood.

I felt dismissed and like my opinion didn’t matter and if I wanted to have an opinion then I need to do it myself. Like what?

It was rude and not okay. Am I wrong? Am I overreacting?

He thinks it was fine that he said that.

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?
