Labour

I had a sweep yesterday at 13:30 and have had cramping that has come and gone since. The cramping was more often and prominent last night but has seems to have died down a little through the night, I’m still getting them but it’s just more mild and less frequent. Is this just the aftermath of having a sweep or the start of Labour? I was 2cm dilated when I had my sweep and I’ve had my show.

If the cramping is infrequent and bearable then it’s likely just an aftermath of the sweep. If it gets more intense as time goes on then could likely be the start of Labour!
When I had my sweep, I had mild but random cramping for the rest of the day and into the night. Then as I was getting to bed, the cramping got worse and made me feel sick. I felt the need to pee and as I got up my waters broke (about 9hours after the sweep) contractions started to become regular and more painful half an hour after my waters broke and then it really ramped up about 4 hours later when I couldn’t stand the pain anymore and felt that I needed pain relief.

I would say it’s quite infrequent and is bearable at the moment. They’ve been happening for quite some time now so wasn’t sure if it was the start of it or just the sweep. I’m hoping they will ramp up throughout the day. Thank you for sharing your experience, it’s definitely helped me with what I need to look out for. It’s so hard to tell when you’re a first time mum! Hopefully the more prominent cramps will come🤞🏻

I know everyone always gets the advice of ‘you’ll just know’ when you’re in proper Labour and like many others I always thought ‘how??’ But trust me, you will know 😂 How are you feeling now??

I’m sure I will🤣 everything seems to have died down a little now but what I was told was my plug by the nurse wasn’t my plug I think it was just blood from my cervix because I’ve just had my show and there was loads of it so I’m hoping that even though things have slowed down they will pick back up again! If not I’m booked in for an induction tomorrow😭xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Invited to a chuckie cheese party but I don't have money and don't want to tell my daughter that's why we can't go. Does anyone know how their parties work?

I'm not sure how chuckie cheese parties are. If they give you money to play or not if you're in the party. And then I'm wondering if it's an actual birthday party or if they're just going to chuckie cheese. Some guy in my building told me a couple weeks ago that his son's birthday is today and he's thinking of doing chuckie cheese. They sent an invite but I feel so insecure not being able to afford anything. Like if they don't have food for example. Idk what to do.

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet driving them mad?? It goes off 5/6 times night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off! Anyone had similar issues?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.
