Transverse baby experience

Hello, I’m seeing the consultant on Monday and if bub is still transverse they’ll refer me to the breech clinic at 36 weeks. I’ve started doing spinning babies and will try and get baby to turn naturally, but having read a few posts/internet articles, it seems that there is a risk of being admitted at 37 weeks. At the moment, I’m not due to finish work until 2 days before being 37 weeks, so I’m slightly concerned I could be starting mat leave and walking straight in to hospital. I appreciate that bub could decide to come naturally anyway and it’s somewhat out of my control, but I’d love to hear from anyone that has been a similar experience and how they managed the final few weeks to try and prepare for this possibility?

My baby was transverse and I had the same conversation around being referred at 36 weeks. I did some Spinning Babies stuff too, she’d move but then I’d wake up and feel her stretching me side to side again. 😅 She decided to go head down right before my 36 weeks appointment. I wouldn’t worry yet - firstly, you’re statistically overwhelmingly likely to end up with a head down baby (98% get there); secondly - and the main reason for that is baby runs out of space in your belly, and they’re kind of forced to abandon their cosy transverse position and go vertical. You’re probably very, very close to it happening, but it’s good to have some precautions in place. Any movement - walking, yoga, and correct sitting (I sat on the gym ball for the last 3 months of pregnancy) will help baby move into the right position. x

I have had a similar experience baby been transverse or oblique up until now. Just been told baby is head down and I am 36 weeks today. Now I have the anxiety of baby not to turn again 🤞🤞
I just done walking, downwards down position, on the ball, pelvis openers, sleeping with pillows between legs to keep pelvis open and positive affirmations. If baby is transverse will be an automatic c section. Just need to mentally prepare yourself that this could be your birth journey. Have everything crossed for you and hope you get the birth you are hoping for.
How many weeks are you? X

Thanks so much both, really appreciate all your helpful intel! I’m coming up to 34 weeks, so still plenty of time for baby to turn. I’ll see what the consultant says on Monday, but contemplating whether it’s wise to bring my mat leave start forward as I work in a pretty stressful office job, so I’m not sure sitting at a desk all day is the best prep. I had the same thoughts I spoke to work about having my leave brought forward but they were supportive and had flexible working put in place really helped me relax and focus on myself and baby.

I'm 34 weeks and still breach, I am self employedvand I work on my feet and have been planning to work up until 37.5 weeks 😂 it's been bloody hard enough in this heat already so we will see how that goes!

I read it can really help taking your birth ball to work to sit at your desk, or try putting a cushion on your chair so your posture is better/ knees below hips to help baby turn then various spinning babies positions everyday... I've started doing them everyday this week ✌️ let's see if it works!

Regarding your mat leave, I sat on a birth ball at work for the last two weeks due to baby swinging between transverse and head down or oblique! It really helped.

I also recommend seeing a chiropractor trained in Webster technique. My pelvis was twisted which wasn't giving baby much room to move.

Last day at work I was 36+0 and had my 36 week appt that day and midwife was satisfied with position. Just trying to keep baby as down and vertical as possible now

And I didn't see anyone suggest moxibustion so do that as well!

How many kids do you plan to have maximum?

I’m only asking this as several years ago, back in the 1970s - 1990s, people would have several kids compared to now
I’m born in 1994 and I remember lots of people I grew up with had loads of siblings and my cousins from both my parents sides would have eight kids in them

I don’t want to go in the process of having another baby and restarting everything. The sleepless nights, screaming, baby falling ill and everything was too much for me.

In this generation, some people are sticking to one child only or having two or three kids at maximum

How to tell my 8 year old

I have just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant (early so I have a while). I am wanting ideas on how to tell my 8 year old son. I want to pay privately for a scan around 10 weeks (not sure if to take him to this, then he can physically see). I am worried that I am going to slip up, I really just want to tell him, but I know I need to wait a bit longer or at least until I know all is ok. PLEASE can I have your ideas and timing of when to tell him? Thank you 🫠✨️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Scared and disappointed !

I always wanted a vaginal delivery and doctor was very positive about my progress. I’m currently 2 cm dilated and doctor has asked me to get induced due to blood flow issue to baby. I hope induction will succeed. She said if baby gets stressed, we have to get into emergency c section. And I’m so scared about it. Any Positive c section recovery would help me. :(
