Hello 👋🏾
My LO has been quite agitated over the last 1/2 days especially when he's not been at the boob or has been put down. Yesterday evening we put him down to sleep and tried to settle him as we would usually but he wasn't having any of it. Since the day he was born he's had very strong suction and sucks on his hands and recently also his arms. Yesterday he kept nuzzling into his hands and arms but with even more aggression due to his frustration. He now has bruises on both arms, one not so bad compared to the other but the arm that got it worse and now has a water boil on it. He's also been pooing like crazy too way more than he was prior. Has anyone ever seen this before/experienced this before?

Iv not seen this before but would a dummy perhaps help? I know some people aren’t keen but thinking it may satisfy his need to suck xx

Perhaps he’s using feeding as comfort as he’s got built up tension? I’ve heard baby chiropractors can work wonders.

My LO has given himself a love bite on his arm from sucking too! 🙈 I couldn't believe it when I saw it but he tries to latch on everything! (And he has a dummy..!)
Yes we've tried a dummy today to prevent him sucking his hands and arms, it's helped alot actually and I think it definitely is satisfying the need and giving me a bit of a break xx
Yeah it's not nice to see, luckily we have a health visitor coming today so hopefully they'll be able to help. Thank you! xx
I haven't considered the possibility of him teething since he's only 3 weeks this Friday (5 if you count the 2 weeks he was "overdue"). I can't say I've noticed any of the other things but I also haven't looked for them so I'd have to check. The chiropractor sounds like a good idea though. Thank you! xx
Yep its kind of crazy to see 😂 I feel like my LO combined it with some gnawing though since the water boil is usually caused by friction. The dummy is definitely a shout!
