Home birth with first

Hey, just wondered if anyone is doing a home birth with their first? I’ve been considering it and had to go to the hospital today to be monitored (baby is all ok! 🙏🏻) but didn’t like the atmosphere in the hospital and felt like it pushed me even more to give birth at home.

Anyone doing it? What are peoples experiences?

It’s my first and I am! I do have a doula for extra support though

Same here, first baby, planned home birth and have a doula for support!

And me. First baby planned at home with partner and sister as support.

I had similar recently, went in for some extra monitoring, and it really secured the fact that a hospital is not my first choice.

We've been doing a hypnobirthing course that has been invaluable (also really supportive midwife) x

It’s mine and I am too! I’m really excited and hoping to all goes ahead as planned at home. I’m 32 weeks and baby is head down so so far so good 👍I have my partner and will hopefully have my mum there as support. My midwife is lovely too and I’ve had her from the beginning which is such a great experience!

I'm considering it if I can in my area

i’m choosing a birth centre attached to my hospital, and im not going in until i’ve laboured at home for quite a while! id rather anything else than an actual hospital room 😫

if you still feel it’s safe and you’re willing to take whatever risk there may be in a home birth you can always have one even if the midwife and consultant end up changing their minds ! x

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Invited to a chuckie cheese party but I don't have money and don't want to tell my daughter that's why we can't go. Does anyone know how their parties work?

I'm not sure how chuckie cheese parties are. If they give you money to play or not if you're in the party. And then I'm wondering if it's an actual birthday party or if they're just going to chuckie cheese. Some guy in my building told me a couple weeks ago that his son's birthday is today and he's thinking of doing chuckie cheese. They sent an invite but I feel so insecure not being able to afford anything. Like if they don't have food for example. Idk what to do.

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet driving them mad?? It goes off 5/6 times night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off! Anyone had similar issues?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.
