Bit of background I’m 4 months in and this is my 2nd time working here. I worked here for 12 months previously before leaving because of my manager who has since left. This Jan I was made redundant and got offered my old job back with some new perks. I work in marketing & work from home 2 times a week which I could never go back to office full time.
Because of finding out I’m pregnant I feel like I need to stay to get the maternity however the last few weeks I’m really struggling to want to be here. Even though my ex manager has left I’m remembering all of the other issues I have day to day with even getting work past colleagues let alone clients.
My current job have offered to pay for the 2nd year of a teaching qualification if I stay for the next 3 years I won’t have to pay them back which won’t be too bad if I have a maternity break in the middle but it does give me anxiety thinking about tying myself down to this job for the next 2 and a half years.
I’ve not got any kids currently so don’t know how unrealistic it would be to quit and find a much easier part time job that I’m happier at for after I finish maternity, in terms of affording everything.
I do have a partner making a decent income but not enough to sustain us full time. Feel it’s unfair that the world is set up where women can’t just focus on having healthy happy children and now have to worry about all of this too 😓

I'm literally going through the exact same thing where I work. I hate it but I'm in the middle of a diploma that they have paid for and I dread going for a new job and then telling them I need maternity. Plus the maternity package is slightly above average. I'm just trying to focus on the things and people I enjoy there but it's a struggle some days. Feel your pain 🤍

If it makes you feel any better, I was in a toxic work environment and left my job. Im currently awaiting my new start date (18th). I had to do what was best for my mental health. SMP will have to do x
yeah that’s what I’m worried about, I’m very early anyway so who knows what will happen but I don’t know if I could commit to doing a part time college level 5 in the evenings and working full time at a job that’s pure chaos and stressing me out and even consider my mental health 😵💫 but my partner and mum have told me to complete college but I don’t feel like they’ll live the suffering if I start to hate both 😪
