I leave right away, if I stay he thinks it’s party time

I stay he's usually asleep within 10 mins. My daughter was a nightmare though 😕 but she has extra needs so may explain it. X

We're still cuddling to sleep here- he doesn't settle otherwise. Wait until he's asleep then put him in the cot x

We co sleep on a floor bed. I lie doen with her while she drifts off and then i can leave for the evening.
Sometimes she cuddles, sometimes not. She’s never gone to sleep without needing me somehow though. I’ll miss these moments when she no longer wants them.
All children are so different aren’t they

I put my 3 year old in bed for 7pm with a film an if she hasn't gone sleep during the film then I turn it off an let her bore herself to sleep

Always put ours to bed alone and left from age of 6 months both are fantastic sleepers and super at self soothing. Littlest (18months) has a few suitable soft toys in her cot to play with if she isn't 100% ready for sleep or for when she wake up in a morning. The oldest (nearly 5) has some toys in her bedroom and books so can play or read until she is tired or I tell her it's time for lights out.
Both have always settled and slept well in strange places too (holidays mainly but sometimes grandparents) and they have both woken without any trouble or crying and play in the cot quite happily sometimes for up to 2 hours depending on how early they might have woken x

I used to cuddle her to sleep but she decided she wanted to go into her bed on her own when she was around 2.5yrs. Then I would sit next to her bed and stroke her head until she fell asleep. Since around 3-3.5yrs we just put her into bed, kiss and cuddle (maybe a quick lullaby) say I love you and leave her to it. Sometimes she will settle to sleep quickly, others she will roll around a chatter to her toys for a while 🤷♀️

We've always put my little boy down and left him to it. He's preferred to self soothe since he was a few months old, he's 2 in a couple of weeks. (unless he's poorly or had a nightmare then he wants cuddles and rocking for a bit to calm him down). He has teddies in bed with him so he'll play with them until he falls asleep or when he wakes up in the morning until I go and get him up for the day x

My little boy used to but we do stay in his room now til he's nodding off. He's pretty good so we are only in there for about 19 minutes. My husband is longer as he thinks he's going to goof around with him (clearly I'm the cuddle parent, not the fun one 😅🤣)
