Speak to your health visitor about birth reflections. If you have a very traumatic birth, it can really help xx

Mine was 7 weeks ago and every so often I find that it still hits me. I found talking to a trusted family member helped.
Most importantly give yourself time with this.

Mine haunted me for ages. A birth reflection really put things into perspective and answered so many of my questions. I bearly thought about it after I had one and when I did, my only thoughts were how amazing I am to have gone through it.

My birth was traumatic and we thought we were going to lose the baby. The next day I had a good cry in the hospital and a good chat with the midwife. After we were home I asked my midwife to refer us for a birth debrief, between the referral and the appointment I didn't think of my birth and enjoyed every moment with my wee one. My birth debrief was with my consultant and they went over everything and explained everything that happened and explained that although it felt traumatic to me and rushed they deal with situations like that every day so will act quickly. Consultant also explained what would happen in any future pregnant and that I will be consultant lead and well looked after. Definitely let your health visitor know, mine knew from my notes that I had a traumatic birth and from the start she has always checked how I'm doing x
