Is anyone else having a hard time sticking to the recommended wake windows for your baby? Ours is 12 weeks and I'm usually able to feed him and put him down for his first nap, but after that his wake windows are shot to hell. His naps are often short unless we contact nap so oftentimes he isn't even hungry until the end of his wake window anyway. Today he clusterfed in the middle of the day and then took a 90 min nap after, so now we have to decide between sticking to his bed time or getting in his usual number of feedings and putting him to bed over an hour late. Even days where his feedings go as planned he won't ever go down drowsy but awake and I dread nap time so much every day. 😫
Is anyone else experiencing this, or know if it gets better any time soon??

I have zero advice or insight. Just here in solidarity. We are very much going through this right now.

No advice here , but we're still fresh in this. My babyg is 3 weeks today and I let her sleep however long she wants tbh. I noticed she's a night owl though... If she sleeps passed 3 hrs I try to wake her with feeding or changing her diaper if needed but alot of the times she rather just get put back to sleep. Don't get me wrong there's days where she does cat naps (less than 30 minutes of sleep) and wants to cluster feed. But I just follow her lead with making sure she's eating enough and still maintaining good energy.

My little one is 12 weeks old and his weight windows and sleep has been so messed up this past week he will not go to sleep unless I hold him and rock him

The whole wake windows and sleep tracking overwhelms me. As long as if my LO gets 3-4 naps she will sleep for 8hrs a night and nursing is good enough that I’m getting multiple pee and poop diapers throughout the day. We contact nap at least 1x which helps her sleep longer. I try to put her in her playpen or bassinet but those naps only last 20mins. Working on stretching those out to longer nap session by swaddling her better, keeping the temp good, etc.

My little one is 12 weeks and he doesn't sleep through the night yet but he he's only waking up once during the night

Yes our baby was doing great with her wake/play/sleep and then she hit 12 weeks and we cannot figure it out. She’s feeding for so long and barely napping, but then sleeps through the night. It makes no sense. We are just going trial and error and hoping something sticks

I use this app called Huckleberry. It tracks sleep, feedings extra. It also tells you the time your baby should be down for a nap depending on your baby’s age. I don’t know if it would help but you can try it out. It helps me a lot with getting my baby down quicker for a nap and him not being overtired.

My baby is in leap #3 fussy phase, 12 weeks old going through the same thing. He has actually been sleeping 6 hours straight now, but I have to get the feedings right before sleep otherwise he wakes up more often. Irs been hard depending on his nap times during the day. We usually have a contact nap in the morning and his 90 min wake windows. Hasn’t interfered much with sleep length at night, but his bedtime can change. I think they’ll be over it soon!
Thanks everyone!! I appreciate the suggestions and knowing it's not just us.

There is a 12 week/ 3 month sleep regression- could be that.

So apparently around this time there is a sleep regression! Mine turned three months and her naps became little 15 minute cat naps, then she'd be grouchy later in day as she was overtired. She's 3.5 months now and just today started going for slightly longer naps.
