So, me and my husband was having a debate on who had it harder when our baby was born. So he brought it all up how he felt like we were pretty much equal in how tired we both were, the thing is he couldn’t cope with night feeds. He would get up, Bounce whilst making the bottle and put the lights on and get frustrated with our newborn baby, so I said to him when our baby was about 3 days old not to worry & I’ll do them all as I was worried about him being so frustrated. Anyway when our baby was newborn he was feeding every 2.5 hours (my husband was off work for the first 1 month) and it would take an hour to feed him/change him/wind him, & after birth I didn’t sleep even 20 mins for the first 2 weeks of my baby’s life, even before he was born I was awake 2 days prior due to labour! He mentions he was the same amout of tired as me due to the baby disturbing him at feeding times. But as I remember he was catching flies every feed and only did about 1-2 feeds in the day when off work. When he went back to work he didn’t and still doesn’t do even 1🙈

I know it’s silly to debate over these things but I literally did and still do everything for our baby, little appreciation would be nice. & please note I would do it all over again for my little love, this is not me complaining about parenting ♥️

I just think the audacity 🤣🫠 when I was running on nothing.

What to you guys think?

I LOVE my partner but when he says this kinda shit I just about lose my mind! No freaking way do they even understand how tired and drained we are. There is absolutely no equivalent. He may be tired, yes. Not discrediting that. But everything that we as women go through and our bodies! We are a million times more run down and tired!!!

I think men are just pansies. I don't know when you look into human history men were supposed to go to war and fight and stuff like that I cannot imagine this now 😂😂 like what a joke. They just whine and whine and something is little uncomfortable they don't want to do it. Little cold and they're dying etc.... Yet women still give birth and do most of the things what was done before. Yes it is probably easier than 200 years ago but still we have it harder than men. 100000% .

The tiredness isn’t the same😭 women go thru way more emotionally & physically draining events whereas men don’t. They may empathise with you but it’s just not the same. Even when we do sleep, it’s like we’re on standby until the next feed or nappy change or cuddle while they actually drift off into a decent sleep. Sorry but the two types of tired just can’t be compared. We barely sleep and still manage to care for our families 😭💕

If men had to go through pregnancy and motherhood, the human race would have died out centuries ago. I'm still pregnant but have woken up at 2 or 3am. every day since the middle of April and mine keeps complaining that he's tired. I want to throttle him sometimes.

this!

We’re yet to have our baby. I’m 16 weeks and for the last month or so I have woken up every two hours for a wee. When I am asleep I’m tossing and turning trying to be comfortable.

Some days he says he’s too tired to do things (for the last two months we’ve worked in a similar job with the same working hours).

And I’m just like ffs, I am literally growing a tiny human, awake constantly at night whilst he doesn’t even stir a slight and yet he’s the one complaining he’s tired.

He’s already said that I’m the one doing the majority of the night feeds from the get go because “he’ll be working”. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I honestly believe men COULDNT do what we do, at this point I don’t know how I’m functioning - 4 month regression but I have no choice if it was the other way round I know my partner would not still be doing house work cooking shopping baby classes etc he would simply say he was too tired but he works long hours so I know I have no choice

These comments just proves all these men are so similar 🫣 women are so strong and men could neverrrr do what we do ♥️ keep going ladies 💪🏼💪🏼💗🫶🏼🫶🏼

My grandfather is strong. My dad is strong. My husband is strong. My grandfather worked looooong hours and multiple jobs to provide for his family. My dad worked long hours at 2 jobs, or doubles in one job, to provide for us, then came home and played with us or took me shopping or took my brother golfing or to sports practice/games. My husband's and my baby isn't born yet, but my husband is searching for a better job to support us so that I can be a stay at home mom, and he's already planning on all the ways he can take care of our baby as well.

I'm saying this to say that no, not all men are the same, and many many women I know - myself included - could never do what a lot of men do for their families either.

Debating on who is the most tired won't solve problems and you won't come to an agreement. Talk about the help you need and ask if there's any way you can help him. Remember that you're on the same team

I agree, not alll men are the same, but have similar traits. My husband, dad and grandad are all strong too. Not saying they’re not.

When you give birth to your beautiful baby and straight after your birth running on adrenaline & do everything for your baby (like we should) then you will see how strong us women really are and how annoying it is when your husband acts like he is the same tired as you.

I agree, debating definitely doesn’t solve anything & we are on the same team. I have a amazing husband & his an amazing dad but the audacity of him acting like we was the same tired when my body was basically broken was frustrating to me.

All the best for the remainder of your pregnancy and I hope you have a healthy birth & baby 🤍

Hour night wakes and 5am get up

Can anyone shed some light as to why on earth my child doesn’t want to sleep??? My eyeballs are bleeding!!

Never been a good sleeper, but the problems always changing. He’s nearly 9 months old.

Beginning of the month he dropped to 2 naps. We could put him to bed at 7pm and he’d get up for the day at 6am, with multiple wake ups every 2/3 hours.

Now we put him down at 7pm, he can do a good 4/5 hour stretch, but come 1/2am he’s up every hour then getting up for the day at 5am. This then completely messes up the day because I can’t keep him awake long enough to even get to 7pm, let alone later.

He has 2 naps, roughly about 1hr10 each but it changed based on when he wakes and trying to get him to a reasonable bed time.

What could be the reason for this? 6am is fine, but 5am is not 😩😩

AITA

In the uk there is an outbreak of meningitis, in a specific area mainly. My BD has family from that area and decided to go and meet up with them, I said if he does then he cannot have contact with the kids for 7-10 days after incase he picks anything up. Am I being over dramatic? I reallyyy don’t want my young kids getting anything serious

I think its fair

Me and my partner agreed to sleep in 1 day of the weekend.
He doesn't find it fair to look after both kids (my 4 year old isnt his) while i sleep so he looks after the baby while i sleep and my toddlers at his dads and ill look after both the next day.
Straightaway it was pretty unfair as i let him sleep in until he wakes up 10-12
He wakes me up when baby starts fussing because he wants milk (doesnt need it)
I cant pump as i dont supply enough.
So i get woken at 9/9:30 to feed baby then i get him sleep then theres no point sleeping in as my toddlers being dropped off.
I also find it unfair that i get both kids to sleep most night, i get my toddler to sleep everyday hes home (4/5days) and i get my baby to sleep most nights with the exception of maybe twice a month as his dad struggless then about 95% of his thru the day naps.
I have also been unwell for a few months (tumor scare) and am waiting 18 weeks to see a specialist so im obviously petrified for that, so unbelievably tired and alot of aches and pains, specifically these pounding headaches ive been having.
After i had been up til 11:30 getting both kids to sleep lastnight and my partner falling asleep at 10 then him ignoring the baby cries all morning until my toddler woke up im fed up slammed to door and rold him not to expect to sleep in unless he gets the baby to sleep the night b4.
I keep having issues with him not feeling the wet from baby being sick or weeing himself or being able to smell it do about 98% of the time hes given to me i have to clean him up n change him.
Including at night, we agreed my partner would change nappies (1 a night at 5am) while i feed (2,4,5,6:30) but every night when i get him hes pissed through and my partner gets annoyed when i wake him up n moan about it.
Then the morning after hes annoyed at how much washing there is (thats his job) and moans about how often i change myself (baby constantly shits thru and sicks on me) and baby
Honestly im just so tired all the time

Over supply of milk

I am nearly 5weeks postpartum and I have such a big over supply of BM.
Has anyone donated / sold their supply, if so where do you recommend for this?

Crawling and walking

So my girl is 9 months now and shes great at sitting up and stays on her tummy for awhile but she seems to have no interest in trying to move or crawl or bum shuffle. Shes a big baby always has been but I'm disabled and I feel like it's my fault she's not hitting milestones I feel like there's something I'm not doing and it's making me a bad mum

Night feeding in sleeping bag

Do you guys keep your baby in their sleeping bag when you feed them in the night, or do you take it off? I take it off as don’t want him to be too hot but then sometimes when he’s sleepy after his feed and I go to put it back on him he wakes up and is fussy. Not sure if I should just keep him in it?
