Hi all. I am after a bit of support/advice. My 6 week old daughter constantly fights sleep in the day, resulting in her having meltdowns as she is overtired. I have tried white noise and other things, but in the day, she won't sleep in her moses basket and just wants to be held. Its.weird as she sleeps well in her moses basket at night. Her over tiredness is impacting on things such as bathtime and my wellbeing. . I am also worried that i have no real routine with her other than feeding her every 3 hours. Should I have a routine? I feel like such a bad mum as it's hard to have one with her

Honestly I’m looking for answers too! My boy is almost 7 weeks and he does not want to sleep in the day, only if I’m holding him but even then they are just little cat naps. I think for the age they are at now this is normal though but I’m with you would be nice to be able to put them down and have at least an hour to yourself! Routine will come in time stick with it xx

My son is 6 weeks and EXACTLY same proble..following for advice but I have tried everything

As for the routine, I've heard is still too early. So in my case for example i will start trying when he is 8 weeks. For now we only have the bedtime routine, during day no. But I always feed him and try to make him sleep, but he just fights it. I do in the quite, not much light, shh shh shh all that stuff 😌

My baby is the same. I don't remember this with his brother but my husband does. No routine, if I'm struggling I get him in the pram and go for a walk as it makes me feel better and he tends to settle due to the motion. They'll get into a routine naturally. You're doing great 💜

My 8 week old is the exact same - she will sleep through the night alone no problem, but has to be on me all day! Will only go in the car seat / pram if she’s already asleep - I do think it’s something they grow out of & is part of this phase. But also saw this & found it super helpful 🥰 ours bubs just want cuddles.

We are on our second son now both were the same as in question, from what I e read about it it's good for establishing a deep sleep at night when they cat nap during the day means that they have there days and nights in the correct order, try a baby wrap if you need to get stuff done when they demand a contact nap , it helps, it gets better after about 8-9 weeks I promise
