Me and my son still cosleep in my bed and have done since may, he’s slept through the night no problem but for the past 3 nights he’s waking up at about 3 or 4am and staying awake for hours trying to get up out of bed, talking and just not going back to sleep! He’s still in the process of learning to walk, could it be that his sleep is messed up because he’s close to learning a new skill? Is there a sleep regression at this age? I need this to stop I am absolutely exhausted😶

Yeah, it’s very common when they’re learning a new skill (especially something as big as walking!) for sleep to get messed up as they want to practice their new skills in the night 🫠 it’s absolutely exhausting but it will pass once he’s properly walking. All you can do really is offer him plenty of time to practice during the day and then when he is awake for a while in the night, try to keep things calm and quiet. I know it’s easier said than done but try not to fight it, if he wants to be out of bed and trying to move, let him but keep the bedroom door closed so he can’t escape 🙈 I found if I just kept trying to get my boy back to sleep, we’d both go crazy - was much easier to just let him do his thing (quiet toys, books etc.) then try getting him back down once he’s looking tired again x

I think it's the 16 month regression lovey. Mines been sleeping through for ages with the occasional wake up. But this week's been terrible and last night he was awake from about 2.30- 4ish. I don't think the heat helps either xxx

I’m in the same position 🥵🙏
