My LO has been going to nursery 2 days a week since she was nearly 1 year old, and she's now 18 months. She still gets upset at drop off and somedays stays upsets for a while in the morning. She's had some time off due to holiday or sick. Any advice, and could it be that nursery is just too overwhelming for her ? 😕 makes me sad

Our son is exactly the same, it's heart breaking. You would think they would get used to it but I don't know when?!?! Everyone I have spoken to says it is because of having a strong attachment but who really knows!!

This is why I just can't take my daughter to nursery (despite desperately needing a break & to work). I am fortunate to have help from my Mum sometimes & my partner. But ultimately I'm sacrificing a lot in order to keep my daughter with me as long as she wants & needs. I am trying to figure out how to possibly fund a nanny so at least my daughter is in her familiar home environment. I just know personally I'll not be able to handle her being so upset before she can properly understand & communicate. I've realised that for us, putting her in nursery is a want of mine, not a need of ours. If it was a need then I might consider looking at other nursery options if possible. Maybe this one just isn't a good fit? It's been a really tough time for us due to my decision, but I know I won't regret it in future. I'm sacrificing a lot but to me it's worth it. We all just have to find solutions that we're happy with. Constantly doing our best. Sorry I know that's not helpful but felt called to share. Best wishes x
