28 week SFH measurement just above 10th percentile

Sorry this isn’t a June 2021 baby related question but I’m just looking for some outcomes surrounding measuring small. I had my 28 week midwife appointment today (baby no.2) and she took the first symphysis fundal height measurement which put me just above the 10th percentile. She said that’s fine for now but if I do drop below that 10th percentile line then they may ask for some growth scans to make sure baby isn’t small. I never had this with my first (June 2021 baby) as I always measured just above 50th percentile line throughout the whole pregnancy. I’m not particularly concerned but I’ve been told by so many people bump looks small and that second babies are usually bigger than the first. Obviously there is nothing in motion/ concern for baby being small yet but I just wondered if anyone in this group measured small on the SFH measurements at midwife appointments and baby was a decent weight at birth? I have read that obviously the measurements aren’t greatly accurate.

I measured several weeks behind at my 28 week appointment and baby was born on time at 7lb15 - it really isn’t accurate at all

thank you! That’s really interesting. My first son was 7lb 3oz and I measured around 50-60th percentile the whole way through pregnancy. I suppose they have to track growth some way, but have heard how terribly inaccurate all of them are!

I was also above the 90th with my first and the measurement dropped at my 40+2 appointment so sent for an urgent scan 40+3 and they found half my fluid had gone but it hadn't leaked and he was measuring small so had to be induced that day. He was finally born at 41 weeks and he was 6lb10oz which was classed as small for gestational age. So I had to have growth scans for my second pregnancy. So I guess what I'm trying to say is although not necessarily accurate of small or big baby the measurements can so issues. Hope your doing ok x

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Ms. Aura Alyse is here 👑🌈🫶🏽

Worth the wait and pain. Baby girl arrived at 7:15 this am weighing 7lbs 6oz. She is so calm and chill.

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

Growth scan

So had my 28 week midwife appointment- all good but after measuring bump- I’m now waiting on a scan within a few days as bump is measuring small I’m not worried as I am guessing a tape measure is hardly accurate but
For anyone who has been in a similar position- what was the outcome after the scan? Was the baby on the smaller side ?
Was baby measuring normal?

Thanks
