Just had my 2nd to last Drs appt. I am hoping for a VBAC. My OB said that at my last appt (1 day before due date) they will do a cervical check. If at all dilated they will do a membrane sweep and will even break my water if everything looks good.
Has anyone had this done? What can I expect if they break my water? I’m going to Google what to expect from the procedure but love to hear from you all too!!

Hmm membrane sweep makes sense. But I haven't heard of them breaking your water during an appointment. Once your water breaks you're on a time limit for baby to come or there's risk of infection- usually 24hrs. So if they break your water and you don't start labor they'd have to induce you with meds and if it takes too long could lead to possible c-section. 🤔

Thank you!!
Worst fear is they admit me, break my water & 24 hrs go by with no progress so they tell me I need a C-section. Maybe it’s best to skip the breaking of my water and pray she comes on her own!! They’ve given me until 40+6 to go into labor or else I need a C-section 😩

I wouldn’t agree to the breaking of water, that’s a huge intervention specially when going for a vbac. You can always decline and wait for baby to come when ready.
