So I’ve been told bottle feeding so soon with breastfeeding can cause nipple confusion and that’s why it shouldn’t be done so soon / before established breastfeeding… what about dummies …?? Surly dummies (pacifiers) would also add to all this but don’t..?
Lol am I being just totally dumb I am very sleep deprived so thought ain’t my strong suit right now

Dummies can also cause confusion so advise is to wait about 1 month or until breast feeding is fully established

We had to introduce a bottle at 9 days due to weight loss and dehydration as my supply wasn’t good after emergency c section. We had the same concerns about nipple confusion but found it fine (he couldn’t manage tommee tippee bottles though but Mam are great). We introduced Mam dummies at approx 3 weeks. We successfully combi feed now with no concerns! I’ve got friends that waited a long time for both bottles and dummies and then had no success but each baby is different of course x

Some baby books Iv read say they don’t believe nipple confusion is a thing, saying if the baby is hungry they will drink. I feel if you get the baby used to several different things it will be easier for you, plus they all very similar, all nipples just different materials.

The hospital told us they don’t give pacifiers to babies who will be breastfeeding because it creates confusion just like the bottle. My girl luckily loves the paci and breastfeeds just fine

U can try syringe or cup feeding to avoid nipple confusion for the first week. It’s not a big cup, more like a small measuring cup or syringe~
