Rang 111 yesterday morning as spotted a few small purple pin prick marks on her legs that were not disappearing under a glass. They arranged emergency GP appointment who then looked at the spots and told us to go straight to A&E, she was then admitted for observations overnight. She has some signs of an early infection but thankfully nothing showing in blood and no indication of meningitis (yet) but I can tell she's not quite right. Don't really have any point to this post to be fair, just trying to fill the time till morning as I can't sleep. This is the absolute worse feeling I've ever had, seeing my baby in the hospital cot. You mamas who had babies in NICU- you are my heroes.

So sorry to hear you and your little one are going through this- it must be so scary. But you absolutely did the right thing and acted quickly so that now shes in thr right place, having the right treatment. Hope she has a speedy recovery xx

Well done mummy, you know your baby best. Hopefully you are getting some rest. Wishing you speedy recovery xx

Sending you and your little one lots of love. You’ve done so well in reacting so quickly, and she’s in the best place. Stay strong ❤️

You’ve done so well reacting so quickly to this. She’s in completely the right place now and they will be keeping such a close eye on her. They treat even the smallest thing with little babies very seriously which is reassuring.

Always trust a mother’s instinct! Even if they want to discharge you and you don’t feel it’s right, fight!

awww that must be so scary ❤️ when I had my little boy he had an infection and if it continued to rise they was going to do a lumber puncture in his spine to check for menigitis it was the worst so i can kinda understand just how anxious you must feel!
Hopefully it is nothing and you are out in no time! Sending you all the luck and hugs! ❤️

Thank you for all the love and we'll wishes guys. We are still in hospital and will be for at least another few days, they've started her on a course of antibiotics and done a lumbar puncture this afternoon to test for meningitis which will take a few days to come back. I'm absolutely petrified, but know she is in thr best place and receiving the best care possible.

This is so scary for you, you're an amazing mum for being so intune with your baby and seeking help. It's not where you want to be or what you want to be dealing with and I hope it doesn't progress or get any worse for your little one. Give yourself a huge cuddle for following that rock solid instinct, your baby is very lucky to have you 🥰

Hey Gemma, just wondering how you are both getting on ❤️

Hi Gemma, my LB has a none blanching purple spot, just wondering how it all went? I’m worrying! Xx
