I would take him to the doctors to be safe. I never got anything remotely like that with my son. Hopefully nothing but better safe than sorry, plus they may have recommendations.

Would suggest getting him seen by the doctor to make sure there is nothing underlying going on

I’ve tried exercises and they help get some gas out but there so just so much that it constantly keeps bothering him

Swollen stomach, looks firm? Please take him to get checked over. Things escalate so quickly when they are little, it’s really not worth the delay. I think you need a proper medical opinion on this one

Doctors. I also recommend some baby massage to help get the wind out. My son was the same, and would gold onto his wind, to the point I'd wind him for over an hour after feeding and get nothing. The baby massage was a life saver. He would be farting like a trumpet after and always seemed much more settled and relaxed

My daughter was exactly the same! Swollen stomach and was so uncomfortable. We changed her formula to cow and gate comfort (colic and constipation) it took 3 weeks to take affect properly but my LO is now pooing after every bottle. Also try doing baby stomach massage and bicycles daily and frequently.

My daughter belly was like that and she had a rash on her Bally and face her pediatrician wasn’t a help at all so I switched her to bubs goat milk formula you belly actually gets squishy now she also poops 3 or more times now and no more rash and she actually wanted to drink the formula before I would have to give her formula knowing that it was gonna be a fight for her to drink her formula and she cried so much during her first 2 months before I switched her she is such a happy baby now

I would take him to be evaluated immediately just to be safe because NEC is very time sensitive. That is very distended.

Praying it’s nothing to worry about Lord willing. My lo’s stomach would sometimes swell up when he needed to 💩. When he did it would dramatically shrink. Hopefully he gets some relief soon sis!

Take him doctors don’t wait ! U want to rule out anything possibly dangerous I’m hoping it’s gas but it’s very swollen not anything I have seen before

Babies are so delicate anything remotely wrong can become life threatening don’t want to worry you but please see a doctor I’m worried now 😟

Hello pediatric RN here. Is your babies stomach always distended like this? Or just after feeds? Regardless, this appears to be more than a "bloated/ gassy" belly from feeding, I recommend taking him in to be assessed. Please keep us posted.

he always is a tad swollen but after feeds is when it’s really bad, sometimes it gets a little bit purple from how swollen he is, but I’m taking him in today!

Thank you all! I have an appointment today for him to get checked up just to make sure it’s nothing severe and get some advice on what to do.

How did the appt go??

(it’s severe gas) they put him on a different type of formula and gas medication, we have checkup in 2 weeks to see if he needs anything further for his gas

Keep a close eye, I'm a bit concerned about the purple color and how distended his abdomen is. I would certainly push for some tests if it does not resolve with the treatments they have recommended.

I definitely will! If this doesn’t work then I’ll make them run some tests at his checkup appointment just to be sure.
