For context - me and my partner are not vegetarian ourselves but he would like LO to be until she can decide herself whether she wants to eat meat. I respect his decision (wouldn’t say I agree with it) and have just accepted that LO will be vegetarian.
But I am struggling with BLW as I’m not vegetarian & don’t have the recipe bank that I ordinarily do with meat, so have now just stuck with giving LO purée & pouch food & I have such bad mum guilt, as baby loves to feed herself and I feel like I’m taking that away from her. When I was pregnant I always imagined cooking for LO and her just having a free diet. Also the constant judging from family that I should be cooking for her and stuff. Honestly I’m just finding it hard & I never wanted to be that parent that cooks 2 meals a night 😖
I’m just looking for some advice, recipes, somewhere to start !
All is welcome & thank you in advance X

I have a book called what mummy makes and there's loads of great recipes in there, plenty that are meat free or could be made with the meat!
My LO isn't a veggie but most of his meals are mainly veg at the mo and can include:
Veg curry and rice
Butternut squash and cheese pasta
Courgette and cheesy pasta
Broccoli and egg muffins
Spinach and sweetcorn fritters
Cous cous, aubergine and red pepper :)
Thank you ! X

I eat mostly plant based & so far, my lo is vegetarian even though my partner will introduce meat at some point. We eat a variety of whole-grains like lentils, quinoa, peas, beans, eggs, tofu, cheese and we play with all the veggies too. I just vary those every day and it stays simple to make on the fly for me. My partner does the more complex meals when there’s 2 of us like risotto (mushrooms & beans), aubergine parmigiana, Mediterranean couscous with courgette & peppers, sweet potato coconut curry etc.
Thank you so muchhh ! X
much appreciated!

I'm not vegetarian but pretty bad a the cooking skill 😂 I been trying this app 'Solids starts', the free version still give you ideas on how to present the food for baby, nutritional information and recipes for every single thing.
okay I’ll try this ! X

We’re vegetarian and my little one LOVES Quorn food. She has sausage and mash, nuggets with veggies etc, fillets with a roast, Quorn pieces in a puréed vegetable curry with rice and flatbread (she loves this) and her absolute favourite is Quorn mince to make shepherds pie, spaghetti bolognaise or lasagne 🥰 she also likes vegetable fingers 😊 the curry and mince meals can be frozen so I tend to batch cook!

Good cookbook called Little Veggie Eats x

need to try Quorn with my little one. Had completely forgotten about those ! Thank you for mentioning them !
