Anyone else absolutely terrified of trying proper foods with baby?! I’m so scared of choking! I want to get over it though because I don’t want my boy to miss out 😭

You could just start off with some purees and smooth porridge, and just try little bits like melty puffs x

My girl has toast with a lot of butter and a rusk in the morning after her milk then I feed her porridge
If she gags it might be the flavour my baby always gags at new flavours but she never seems to be choking my aunt is a midwife and said that’s normal x

What I felt to help was watching videos of babies gagging to get used to what my son’s reactions could be. And then I was sure to watch what to do if baby chokes and cpr :)

I'm puree weaning, I puree weaned my other 2 children and they are fine. Didn't have half as much anxiety about the choking 🙃

I’ve joined a group on Facebook called Weaning the BLW Way and it’s been so informative and made me feel less anxious! Also got the book what mummy makes for some good recipes! Both been recommended by a friend and they’ve both been really helpful x

I’ve started with mashed, not purée. So she’s still getting a bit of texture. She’s not chewing yet, still sucking so she’s only getting very soft foods like the seed but if a cucumber. I think you can make your way up and use finger food when you see baby is actually chewing and learning how to chew.
