Breastfeeding

I feel so stressed out about breastfeeding....I have flat nipples so he doesn't like to latch so I've been pumping exclusively but don't get more than 2 oz but then I leak all the time

I have tried them but he fights me the whole time using them

Dont get to stress about it! We already have a solution (formula) you still being the best mom with or without breastfeeding!

Have you tried wearing milk collectors to catch milk from your leakage? I love the haakaa ladybugs! Also power pumping helps a lot. And a tablespoon full of coconut oil a day will help increase your milk supply

he'll be 4 weeks Sunday

Maybe look into the lansinoh nipple everter or the haakaa nipple corrector? These will pull the nipple out then give the baby a chance to latch

Hi Kayla, there’s a few different positions and techniques you can try to draw your nipples out while feeding and/or pumping. It can be super stressful when it seems things aren’t going your way, just try and relax as much as possible during a session to avoid a dip in your supply.

If he was latching and feeding from your breast it’s likely he’d only be having a small amount at a time as new borns tummies are so small they feed little and often, so don’t stress about pumping small amounts. Lots of videos of people pumping will be with an older baby and an established supply, which often takes a couple of months to establish. You could try cluster pumping to replicate what a new born does when increasing supply xx

I feel for you I’m in the same boat but not to worry your body is producing just enough for what baby needs starting out they will eat about 1.5 to 3 oz for the first few weeks like once they hit 2 months then that’s when they drink like 4-5 in a sitting , as far as the nipple shield it’s definitely war zone how it keeps falling or if baby turns head or moves during feeding but if u put nipple cream around the shield it helps keep it in place but still may move depending on how your baby moves . Then for your leaking all day milk collectors are on Amazon . You got this mama and don’t feel bad if all fails you have formula, it’s not ideal I know trust me but you’re doing the best you can mama and if u have to supplement some formula to get by do so , your pediatrician will even recommend it, depending on how your next appointment goes for your one month

Can you get in with an ibclc?

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰
