So, i had my 29week appointment today, and my doctor straight shamed me for gaining 25 pounds this pregnancy, and that i need to eat better or I’m gonna have a harder time losing the weight once i have the baby.
Like SIR what?! I’m feeding myself and a human, I’m literally HOUSING a HUMAN in a fluid sac.

Hunny don’t let your doctor body shame you… I’ve gained 20 pounds by 28weeks. I’m going on 29 weeks. My obgyn told me it’s completely normal and fine! And that it doesn’t mean I will have a harder time loosing weight!

This upsets me. Absolutely zero reason to body shame you. Who cares if it takes a little longer to lose weight after you give birth? I gained 30 pounds in 30 weeks and my doctor just told me anything beyond 35lbs is just "extra weight". I eat when I'm hungry and try to get some exercise throughout the week. As long as baby is healthy, I'm happy and I'll deal with weight loss after she's here.

i was experiencing feeling like a failure bc i was gaining weight “too fast” from what my doctors nurses told me. I’m now 31 weeks and have gained 30 pounds im with as long as me and baby are healthy i will focus on my weight later- we don’t know what’s going to happen to our bodies after delivering a whole baby. be kind to yourself, i’ve struggled with eating disorders my entire life it took a lot for me to get to this point. wishing you the best!

Doctor did that to me with my first baby. 2nd baby new doctor supports weight gain because he knows sometimes it can’t be completely controlled. I’m sorry to hear you had to experience that. Keep doing what’s best for you and baby!

I am so sorry to hear that. As someone who's been plus sized my whole life, Dr's. talking about weight is nothing new to me, but is also somewhat of a red flag. Also, so what if you have a harder time working it off after? What does it matter to him? Normal weight gain in pregnancy is like 6-40 pounds. Too big of a scale to put any real thought into. Eat what makes you and baby feel good, try to get some steps in if you can, and give your Dr the finger!

Male doctors are dicks! Some are good if you find the right ones but a lot of them are dicks. 25 pounds is completely normal. You have nothing to worry about. I’ve gained 21 pounds so far.

My doctor thinks that gaining more than 25 pounds is going to make delivery and losing my baby weight harder.

he’s totally wrong. With my son I gained 63 pounds total. Yeah given it was muscle mass that I had lost previous it was only like 20 pounds of muscle mass. The other 30 was baby weight and then like 12 was just him the placenta and amniotic fluid. It took me a while to have my son because I was induced but it wasn’t hard and I lost majority of the baby weight. Everyone is different and he cannot just body shame you for 25 pounds. He hasn’t grown a child

EXACTLYYYY. I’m like do you not realize i have a whole as child and sac full of fluid inside of me??

he’s probably jealous that you look fabulous💅
