Sleep win!! 🤗🤗 The Happy Sleeper- sleep wave method

My little girl, almost 7 months old has been an okay sleeper. Takes naps and sleeps in her crib can almost always get ger down and will sleep for a out 3-4 hours at a time at night. However, she always needed support to get to sleep or if she woke up in the middle of the night. I was looking for a sleep solution because when she woke in the night it could take me 15 minutes to get her back down and we were both exhausted. In came The Happy Sleeper book. Oh my goodness- game changer for us! We're on our 3rd day and I can put her down for bedtime and naps awake and she gets herself to sleep. The first bedtime was rough but it's been amazing since then! There are tears involved but you never go more than 5 minutes without checking in if baby needs you. Highly recommend! I did a lot of research and for me, this was the best option that I felt good about following through with. I just wanted to share in case any one else was looking for some sleep help.

mine did too and in the book they mention it. It's normal and after the first bedtime it stopped for us. It took 35 minutes the first night and i checked on her 7 times. I just put her down for the 3rd night with this method and 0 crying at all. She just rolls around and gets comfy and fell asleep

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.
