I had an appt today and I was told I have a grade 3 placenta and basically isn’t doing anything for baby anymore. I was scheduled a bpp test for my next appt at 38 weeks and depending on results it could result in delivering. Has anyone ever gotten any news like this? I’m trying not to freak out because dr didn’t seem to worried but I just want the best for my baby and hearing anything like that worries me

How far along are you now? Grade 3 placentas are typically normal after 37 weeks and as long as you are past 34 weeks it can be okay as well. It's a process that happens the closer to baby coming into the world we get. The placenta begins to slow down on how much it is passing on to the baby to help the baby prepare for life outside the womb. It is typically a gradual process . My placenta was grade 2 last week at 37 +3 and on my ultrasound this week at 38 +4 it was grade 3 doctors told me it can be completely normal.
I’m currently 37 weeks as of today. And thank you ! I feel a little better now

I can see how it could be scary not knowing 😊 even if they needed to deliver baby at this point they would be just fine as you are considered early term 😊
