I’m having to pump and feed through bottles as one boob is just too painful when he feeds and I’m struggling with sterilising. Do I need to sterilise the pump aswell as the bottles before each use? I’m currently using a microwave steriliser but it takes a while so worries this will be to costly with electric bills. What sterilisers do people recommend? Xx

Yes everything milk touches and babys mouth touches needs steralising, dependant on what bottles you are using and pump for the steraliser, I'm expressing a bottle feeding as baby struggles to latch properly, I was using a second hand tommy tippy and it was relatively good, could get 6 mam bottles done or the pump steralised, i got rid of it only because it kept tripping out and I wasnt sure it was running a full cycle, however baby drinks better from doctor brown bottles so I bit the bullet and brought the steraliser bottle set in their sale and it's brilliant, steralises and dries.
I'd say if your looking for a steraliers make a list of its must haves like efficiency rating, how long uts cycle runs ect and go by that xx

You can get a Milton cold water steriliser really easy to use xx

My HV told me that the pump just needs to be sterilised once in 24 hours and can be left in a Tupperware box in the back of fridge in between uses.
I haven’t personally followed this advice, but maybe something to check with your HV to save yourself some work - if it’s a thing.

Breast pump only has to be sterilised once every 24hours not after every use. Several midwife’s/HV have mentioned this to us as we are exclusively pumping as my daughter decided to refuse to latch after 6 days of BF
