wiping post partum

I had a second degree tear and gave birth a week ago. My crotch and my butt still hurt very very bad obviously. I have had some bowel movements but I am terrified to wipe. I’ve tried very gently but it hurts so bad. It’s so gross that I can’t wipe my butt but idk what to do. I’m also so scared of like hitting my stitches when i wipe.

Are you using dermaplast spray? I have third degree and they told me to spray not just the cut area but also the butt, and keep spraying. Do you have stool softener too?

Avatar

Yes and yes. I don’t really spray my butt though only my vagina. I will start spray my butt too. I have been taking stool softener

I’m so concerned about pooping. My hospital doesn’t make you poop in order for them to discharge you, so I’m nervous to be leaving hospital without having the nurses there anymore to help me! 😢
I’m on your side and know what you’re going thru! We got this mama

They also said even though tedious, I could spray off in the shower each time after like padding as much of it off my butt lol. Kinda like a bidet!

I had a second degree tear and was also scared to wipe. To “ wipe” I gently dabbed and used the Frida peri bottle to finish cleaning myself. Definitely be on top of your stool softener so it’s easier to use the restroom. I don’t force it out, if it’s not an easy exit I just wait cause I was scared of forcing it out too

Noooo don’t wipe mama! Use a peri bottle to rinse your vagina and butt. Shower if you have to. Use dermaplast and spray on your vagina and the pad you put on. Use witch hazel pads as well (I’ve heard a couple of people use this to wipe as well, but I never tried it myself).

my first bowel movement wasn’t too bad! just keep taking stool softener also i made sure to ask for stool softener while still in the hospital:)

I tried the witch hazel to gently wipe and it hurttttt

I never wiped after I gave birth to my first, had second degree tear. Used the peri bottle first and then showered after a bm, it took me more than 6w to heal and when I tried to wipe I messed up the stitches so I opted for just rinse and wash.

I have a second degree tear as well. But I’m able to just wipe my booty. That’s the least sensitive part. I haven’t really taken stool softeners but when I go I just let it happen with out trying to force it out.
But also the pain in my vagina! I don’t even know how to explain the feeling I feel lol

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
