Anyone else sick to death of working hard, paying a fortune on childcare then seeing people illegally claiming free childcare for their two year olds while sitting at home doing fuck all!!!!!

What do you mean illegally? š how do you claim if you're not entitled?

maybe she means not declaring partners and joint income?

I think maybe she worded this post abit wrong, this could be about someone she knows or she couldāve overheard a conversation about it. Think we need to hear more

How do u know their sitting at home doing nothing? Maybe their cleaning maybe they have another baby to look after maybe their on maternity leave maybe they have depression anxiety or an illness your not awwre of maybe their a carer for someone you don't know other peoples circumstances so don't be so judgey and paint them as lazy š¤ being a parent is hard work weather you work or don't that may be the only few hours break they get from their child!

Judgemental or what? š
Do you know these people personally and their circumstances š cause if not Iād zip ya mouth š
Itās there for people to legally claim! So why not use the help theyāre entitled to? Just because it may offend some small minded person. š

My childās at nursery today and Iām at homeš¤·š¼āāļøbut I still work full time, just happen to have today off

claiming to be single parents when they aren't.

I claim it because itās good for my daughter, Iām on maternity leave so thatās the only reason Iām eligible for it, no it isnāt fair that working parents have to pay it should be for all 2 year olds however if itās there to claim people may aswell use it š¤·āāļø

The fact the poster has posted anonymously too š says it all use ya face for the big statement š¤£you really wanted this post to go your way but it's not š¤£no time for Bitching just mind your business and carry on with ya day š

I believe the government are going to make childcare free for working parents too

from 2024 and upto 30hrs x

you can get free hours from 3 but theyāre lowering the age soon I think, I may be wrong
I'm not claiming?
Wow calm down everyone. Two people I know claim they dont have a partner and don't work so they can claim UC when in reality their partners live with them, work and take home 600/700 quid a week. Meanwhile me and ny partner both work hard. Have to put our kids ij nursery full time to earn a living and we spend less valuable time with our children. While people I know just sit at home, going out with their mates, Iiving the dream getting free childcare they aren't actually entitled too
yeah I do know these people and they are claiming ILLEGALLY
People always quick to start defending themselves. Read the post again.

I didn't say you as in you it was a question more like how can anyone?
@Amina very easily. Just claim your single and you don't have a partner living with you as these girls do.

Unfortunately there will always be people fiddlng systems. I wouldn't stress yourself over it as they'll come crying when they get found out and get done for fraud and have to pay it all back :)

nobody gets caught. I know so many people whoāve claimed to be single parents when they arenāt. They get loads of UC while their partners make great money. It pisses me off as a single mother who canāt afford food at the end of the month

Yeah council tax or even post or cars registered all easy to find out so don't know how people get round it and always chance someone will notify hmrc

You should be too busy working on your own grass to notice if theirs is greener! Typically they donāt have as much as you think. It shouldnāt be your business/judged if theyāre your friend
Do you think government got time to check every single person claiming? š¤ course not.
@Gabbi oh they have more than most people considering they get 1.6k a month benefits plus the 2/3k a month her partner earns. While I'm working my ass off paying tax to fund her free childcare for her daughter while she sits at home lapping up her life.
@Lydia glad someone is on the same page as me! I feel for you I really do. It's always the genuine ones that get the shit end of the deal c

the issue lies in data protection laws. The systems are not able to communicate freely with each other. For example, when we redo our visas I have to give in tons of documents like bank statements and employer letters because HMRC doesnāt share its data with The Home Office. So DWP doesnāt talk to HMRC. The car is registered with DVLA, who donāt talk to anyone either. As for council tax, thatās another company (the council) who also donāt talk to the government departments due to data protection on their records.
Unless someone at DWP suspects something and starts an investigation and engages with other departments, no one is caught.
The systems arenāt allowed to be connected to āprotectā our personal records, itās why itās a nightmare for law enforcement too to get info on people. If they were able to work together, tens of thousands of people would be caught for a number of things from fraud to criminal activities x
@Sarah if you work and get the 30 free hours you have to reconfirm your details every 3 months or the funding gets stopped. But UC don't have to do this. You apply once for your free 15 hours and that's it. They leave it down to the individual to tell them of change of circumstances. It's all backwards and wrong

I know but if HMRC and DWP systems spoke to each other, you wouldnāt need to do it as your account could update with your NI number and details therefore seeing you are still working.
I forgot first time to do it and got my funding stopped, didnāt remember I had to do it. So antiquated! I just for the child free tax credits so still pay Ā£100 a day for childcare š¢ better than Ā£120 a day but I do begrudge it
@Sarah it's so wrong isn't it. Thats crazy amount for a day! But hopefully this free childcare comes into affect next year for working parents š¤š¤
