Good morning!
An awake window is the period of time it takes for your little one to have enough sleep pressure to fall asleep.
I don’t personally go by recommendations for their age and go by awake windows after the age of 4 months and this is because I work from their sleep needs in 24hours.
Example
6 month old requires 2-3.5 hour awake window but sleeps 11 hours overnight. Their total sleep need is 12-14 hours. So if they’ve taken 11 overnight they will on average need no more then 3 hours in the day.
This is why I don’t go from awake windows.

I like this way of looking at it, and I’m always trying to work out the 24 hours. He just had trouble hitting the amounts 😂
