I had a consultant appointment on 1st September to discuss the C-section and get it all signed off. Unfortunately the consultant felt my reasoning wasn’t enough to sign it off and my BMI is high which she used as another factor for not signing it off- so said she’d refer me to another consultant for a second opinion. It’s now been a week and I’ve still not got an appointment. I’m 38 weeks today so should be having the C-section any time from next Friday. I’ve called the antenatal department twice to chase it and they keep saying their waiting for the consultant to confirm back. I’ve also let my midwife know I’ve still not got my second appointment through to sign it off. No one seems to be helping me or see the urgency in it. Does anyone know if there anyone else I can contact at the hospital?

Unfortunately my sister-in-law is having the same problem and they’ve told her because of consultant strikes and emergency C-sections as well as those medically needed, she’s not a priority
They said she’ll probably hear at 39 weeks a date for the C-section as she’s an elective and doesn’t haven’t any medical problems to warrant one
You can try calling your hospital again or going through PALS though as they may be able to help more
