Pants - for after I have disposable pants for the first couple days post birth but then not sure - would you say to use maternity pants with pads? I have been wearing thongs in a couple sizes bigger so far as have found it the most comfortable but just packing my hospital bag and not sure how many big comfy ones I need for the weeks after?

Nursing bras - I intend to breastfeed but obviously not 100% sure if it will be possible and have a couple doubts about it (not looking for advice on the bf) so do I buy 2-3 nursing bras as recommended or not!?

I've bought 2 nursing bra's so far as I saw some in Primark. I would get some big black knickers for post-birth to use with maternity pads. You can use pads with the disposable underwear too. All depends how much you bleed and for how long x

thank you, I’m a G cup at the mo before my boobs get bigger so cheaper nursing bras aren’t an option 😭😭😭😭

try Bravissimo's sale xx

I've got the 5 pack of disposable knickers and about 40 pads, our antenatal class trainers didn't recommend disposable knickers they said they're uncomfortable 🥴 so gonna be trial and error trying them both out seeing which works. And I'm not getting nursing bras until my milk comes in as I've no idea what size boobs I will be then, I'm already a H cup and fearing for the worst 😅

yeah that’s my predicament. I don’t want to buy nursing bras til I have to but trying to get hospital bag bits ready (even though I’m having a home birth if possible) so it’s conflicting!

Avatar

thank you, I will need to wait until a few weeks time as 34 weeks today

I've brought a few packs of full briefs in a size bigger for after disposable ones. Only got black as atleast I don't have to worry about staining.
As for nursing bras I'd wait until your milk comes in as I've been told by a few that your boobs will get bigger as this happens, I mean if you can find some cheaper ones in your size (I know you've already mentioned your size and I know it's hard to find them in bigger sizes) I'd get like 1/2 but if not I wouldn't worry until you have too! X

I brought the Disposable knickers and tried them on already, obviously everyone is different but I think they are super comfortable (I brought the short shape ones) genuinely wish I could wear them at other times!

Avatar

yeah it would be ideal to have the nursing bra already but I'd be so annoyed buying the wrong size. I'm just going to take a normal bra but I probably won't even be wearing it in the hospital just have them out lol.

oh yeah it’s absolutely for afterwards. I’m having a home water birth so hopefully not needed!

I have no gone up to a HH cup thanks to the joys of pregnancy 😆 I got my nursing bras from Royce lingerie. There were a few that were half price at £18 which I didn't think was too bad! They are not super pretty but not too ugly like a lot of big bras are!

Matalan for high waisted knickers, go up 2 sizes (I'm a 12 and I bought size 16 and they are so comfy!) Disposal ones are crap if you need stitches... use kotex pads x

i got two good ones at John Lewis for 35 pounds (the pair) got measured and all, we are the same size and they are really nice

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

I have a feeling like I might get attacked from this but I’m going to say it anyways. incognito 🥸 GLP1s being mainstream for regular people who are NOT diabetic or morbidly obese is bad for so many reasons 💉💉💉

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

Getting pregnant after c section

When did you get pregnant again after a c section? Our plan was always to have 2 under 2 but that is now out the window because I had an emergency section. I know they say 18 months and we will be sticking to it (as much as I don’t want to) but I’m curious how quickly you got pregnant after your section?

Movements

I’m 28 weeks tomorrow. Yesterday I had loads and loads of movements but today I have only felt small flutters and a couple of kicks throughout the day. I get so confused as some people say they don’t have a pattern but others say they do. We have a Doppler so used it this evening and could hear the heartbeat and then moving but does anyone else get quieter days of movement than others? I am seeing my midwife tomorrow so will check but just find myself getting anxious about it and don’t know when to get checked. I know they encourage it but last time as soon as I got to triage baby started moving loads!
