My little man is just 3 months and just doesn't seem to eat enough. I know I'm comparing to others on here which I shouldn't do, but some of the volumes these wee babies are taking in comparison are huge compared to us š I'm not worried (yet) he has still been gaining weight (slowly) but I just wondered if anyone else's little one was the same? Just small amounts like 1-2oz even when it's been a good few hours? He does have times when he takes bigger bottles but the average is about 2-3oz a feed. Definitely not hitting the guidelines set by health visitors for a day though.

Yea, 2-3 oz feeds at 3 months doesnāt seem right. Iām not trying to discourage or compare, everyoneās baby is different, but my son is also three months old and he drinks 8 oz for his first feed after sleeping 8-9 hours at night, then he eats 6.5 oz and he eats ever 4.5-5 hours. I would maybe talk to your pediatrician. That little of an amount every couple hours seems like too little for how old he is and there could be underlying issues. Not to scare, but when I was 4 months old I was not eating well and not gaining weight. I was 11 pounds. My mom didnāt have an ultrasound with me, so at four months they realized I had a congenital heart defect that was affecting my weight gain.

What is that in a day for your son? Just so I can see the difference from the daily amount too. Is that about 3 bottles at 6.5oz?

He drank 27.5 oz yesterday. 8, 6.5, 6.5, 6.5. Heās dropped down from feeding 5 times to 4 times a day in the last two-three weeks. Thatās why he feeds roughy every 4-5 hours.

Okay thank you for your reply āŗļø we aren't super below that but a good few ozs. My post maybe sounds worse than he is š I suppose I just expected him to be taking more at once. He's maybe a bit of a snacker which is probs our fault š he just seems to get bored quickly lol

Have you talked to his pediatrician yet?? Bc my sins pediatrician told me as long as heās still gaining weight and reaching his milestones heās okay, my son was born premature w/ jaundice (36wks and 4 days)and wouldnāt even wake to eat, i had to literally wake him every 1-2 hrs just so he could eat.. heās now 3 months and 2 weeks and eats abt 6oz every 2-3 hrs.. and my baby is very chubby now compared to how small he was when he was born
