My baby has a little bit of a tongue tie that only sometimes affects his latch while we’re breastfeeding. This morning when he finished eating there was a purple ring around his mouth and i was wondering if that’s normal or something I should worry about.
We have a referral to the head and neck doctor to have his tongue tie corrected but I don’t want him to be uncomfortable until then.

Have you applied any cream to your breast? Looks more like a skin irritation, make sure you use non-fragrance products for your skin as well as baby’s.
It could also be heat rash if he stays prolonged time on breast and the sweat of your boobs make his delicate skin irritated. Clean with water and washcloth after each feeding and make sure to wipe any creams of your breast/nipple before feeding if you use any.
