My toddler is 14 months. We have breastfed since he was born was super lucky to have a brilliant journey and even though we only feed once in the morning and for comfort if he hurts himself I noticed my milk was becoming a lot more sparse. I then found out I was three on the pregnant which is what could have possibly caused the milk to become less. I felt super fatigued and had severe morning sickness so for my own sake weaned my14 month old off. I am
Now past the morning sickness stage and into the second trimester and am feeling overwhelming guilt about weaning him before he was ready. Was I selfish to do that. I still feel like he looks for it when I don’t offer him comfort when he hurts himself and he doesn’t understand why I’m not offering it. I just feel so bad especially when I see baby’s his age on social media and they are still being fed. 😞

Absolutely not, no you were not selfish you did it at the right time because it was necessary. 14 months BF is an AMAZING achievement you should be so proud of yourself. Think of it this way, some babies are NEVER breastfed and if you kept breastfeeding him it could’ve had an impact on your pregnancy in terms of emotions hormones etc. you probably feel extra guilt because you’re hormonal but honestly 14 months in and of itself is enough so be proud of yourself. When the new baby is here you can always express and put it in his food for extra goodness and immunity! ❤️
Thank you so much for taking the time to write that. I have been crying all evening about it - your right, deffinatly Hormornal! But just the point you made sour adding it into his food for extra immunity has really got me thinking and I will absolutely do that. Thank you so much 🤍

No worries love and you’ll probably be thankful when the time comes that you don’t have to feed and nurse 2 at the same time 😭 xx

I weaned my son at 14 months because I was due when he was around 17 months. I didn't want to have to start denying him around the time his sister arrived and then have him hate her for it. By the time she got here I don't think he even remembered nursing it was perfect. So unless you plan on tandem feeding (no judgement! Totally good for u I just knew I wouldn't be able to handle that on top of 2 under 2) its actually a really great time to wean.
thanks so much, really appreciate that xx
