Planned Section.. what to expect?

first of all, breathe, everything’s going to be okay, i promise!!
i had my twin boys 6 months ago via planned c-section and i loved every moment of it.
they got us to go in at 6-7am, they checked us into the recovery ward to put our stuff there, get my gown and socks on, for my boyfriend to get into his scrubs, all that kinda stuff.
you won’t have a selected time slot, they do about 5 c sections all day, which are put into order the morning of, depending on whose higher priority which can change throughout the day.
mine was the 2nd of the day which was about 10am.
they walk you down to the theatre room, you meet all your doctors/midwives, they walk you through every single step and are so so kind and reassuring.
they sit you in the table and they insert a cannular into your hand so they can of course give you medication throughout, then they tell you to arch your back over and they’ll do the epidural. i promise you it’s not as bad as ANYONE says it is!! (part 1)

(2)i’m a massive baby when it comes to pain and i barely felt it. so we went in about 10am by the time all that was done they lay you down, do checks all that stuff. your partner has a stool to sit on next to you. the doctors talk to you all the way through it and it’s so relaxing. you can also put on music if you’d like too.
my first boy was born at 10:21am, the second at 10:25am so it is a lot faster than you would expect. they stick you back up and your done.
it’s not painful, you do feel a little uncomfy and some pulling but not painful whatsoever.
they will then wheel you down to the ward where you go right after a section for meds, and to be monitored for a little while. they then take you back to your original recovery ward.
my recovery was super quick and i was up and walking the next day, just take it easy.
