Night wakings

For those whose babies don’t have long naps in the daytime. By long I mean total under 1.5-2 hours.

How many times are your LO’s waking in the night?

Particularly interested to hear if you have always had a frequent waker (never ever slept through) and how you settle back to sleep.

TIA

I've always found my babies wake up as often as I breastfeed them. I currently feed my boyo once per night so he wakes up mostly once (sometimes 2x but I'll send my partner). Once the heatwave is over I'll stop feeding overnight and hope that 90% of the time he will sleep through. He's EBF so they sometimes need an overnight feed but he's certainly old enough for me to test that a bit now. To cut down I still wake and feed him when he cries out but only for 1 minute then stop and rock to sleep. It's so unsatisfying that they eventually stop waking but so comforting that they are happy and no crying.

My little one only sleeps under 1.5-2 hours of naps in the daytime. He’s usually asleep around 7ish (give or take) and wakes once in the night for a bottle. That said we’ve moved house and he was teething so during August he was waking average 2 times in the night. The heat has been a bit rough too. He has been formula fed since very little and has always woken 1-2 times overnight since about 8 weeks.

My little girl generally sleep for around 1.5 to 2 hours in the day (as a rough guide around 3 naps of around 30 mins) and she sleeps through. Occasionally wakes for her dummy but once I've put it back in she goes back off straight away x

My little boy usually has 1.5 hours total naps and wakes 2-3 times during the night. EBF apart from solids. He typically sleeps from 7pm - 6am with the wake ups being for feeds/comfort and lasting 15- 20 mins. Xx

Thanks all. My LO wakes 4-5 times a night and just exhausted!

EBF with solids here 👋 my LG rarely naps more than 1.5 hrs during the day. Bed time was 7.30 and would wake about 7am. Wakes 3/4 times a night, twice she has a proper feed. I'm trying pushing her bed time back to see if it helps her wake less during the night coz I'm back at work and its exhausting!

Not drinking

I’m going crazy. Baby born at 2.26kg. Slow to put on weight. This last week hasn’t put on any. Been trying to feed him at night and he’s not interested at all. Fast asleep. During day he will have 5 minute gulps and that’s it. He don’t cry for milk. I’ve got to keep offering to him. I try to offer it every hour but I don’t know what I’m doing. HV said nutrition comes after 5 minutes so I should pump first and then give him. I find it so hard. I tried to pump one boob nothing came. The other abit came. Tried giving him express he’s not interested in that too. Sometimes he will go for a longer a feed but not long at all. He’s 4 months and is currently 5.46kg. I have no family or friend support here and wish I had a cook, cleaner and nanny to help with everything so I can concentrate on the little one. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I’m loosing it. It doesn’t help that my also stressed generally about my relationship and life circumstances. Any advice that will work. Any comfort you can give. I’m fed up. Is this regression - not feeding. He’s fast fast asleep. I’ve been trying to push the nipple in but that mouth is closed shut. I took some clothes off. Changed his nappy but he’s still asleep. Please help

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
