Alarm

So my partner lo’s dad gets up around 5.30 for work so has to set alarm.

It’s rather frustrating as me lo will also wake up to this alarm. I know this because every weekend she sleeps in till at least 7 but on morning he’s up early she’s also awake.

We are still room sharing as we don’t have enough room to put her in her own room just yet

Any one else have this issue and could give some advice.

Tell him to get a smart watch with a silent alarm so it only wakes him up when it vibrates on his wrist 👍🏻

Or a phone alarm on vibrate.

We had another issue along with this - my partner would want to keep snoozing his alarm! So it usually rings at least 5-8 times every few minutes before he actually wakes up! It used to be ok with LO was a newborn cos he would feed then. But once he started sleeping through the night I would get annoyed. The vibration didn't wake my LO up but it would keep my awake when I didn't need to be.

Eventually my partner started sleeping on the couch. He says it's also easier for him to get out of bed then cos in the bedroom it's so cosy he gets lazy 🤦‍♀️

So until LO is sleeping with us, my partner sleeps in the living room thru the week and sleeps in the bedroom on the weekend.

Not ideal, but it's the only thing that works for us atm

Smart watch here too. Works like a treat! Vibration only and no sound

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Bedtime routine

I have a 12 week old and we struggle to get him to sleep in his next to me crib or Moses basket, so he sleeps in bed with us which means we’re struggling to have a bedtime routine as he won’t sleep till i go to bed with him.
Any suggestions please as he doesn’t sleep till around 11/12
