Resisting afternoon nap

My baby could be up for literally 6 to 7 hours!! Anyone else’s baby the same? Just worried cause everything online says they need to sleep every 3.5-4 hour

We are going through the same thing and he’s exhausted - we had to go back to sleep training. Apparently there is a regression at this time? Mine is 1 in two weeks

That's my LO! Well was..sometimes he fights it. Sometimes, he has two sleeps a day.

I always worried about him being awake sooooo long, but he resisted so hard I gave up trying to put him to sleep after about 45 min/1 hour, but if he was tired he would fall asleep.

same, turning 1 next week!

yes I am the same I’m not going to sit there for more than half an hour😬

I'm the same! I read somewhere that if they don't fall asleep within 15 - 30 mins, they aren't tired enough to fall asleep, so i started doing that.

Also my LO is 1 soon so don't know if it's a regression like Sara has said.

I really don’t understand sites like huckleberry they put so much pressure on parents, perhaps each baby is unique and we should go just follow their cues

Oh my goodness, YES!
100% agree. I stopped using Huckleberry because of that.

Each baby is different, similar in some cases, but very different.

My baby just turned 12 months. He started to transition to one nap a day 3 weeks ago. Now only one nap of 1.5 to 2 hours around midday. That is not a regression....I believe that regression is a term used by sleep consultants to make money, which I totally understand, everyone has to make a living somehow. But honestly, I don't believe in such a thing. Actually, I had 12 months appointment with our maternal health nurse, and she said it is totally normal by this age to have only one nap a day. I just follow my baby's cues.
If baby is resisting a nap, it is because they are not tired enough to go to sleep. just get baby into some activity to get brain working 🤓 or go to a park, read baby a book....etc.
All babies are amazing 🤩 they are so smart 🤩 and so unique 😍

We've been 1 naps here and there for a month now. My bub is turning 1 on the 23rd and as much as I try to put her to sleep, she resists it and like today, she beats her record and did 7hr wake window.

Follow baby cues to save your sanity as im trying to do with mine. 😂😂 Babies are smart and they will guide us what they want. If baby is growing and happy then we are doing our best!

My baby was doing this and I had a sleep consult and the sleep consultant said he didn’t have enough wake time in the morning which had an impact on his arvo nap.
So pushed the morning nap out 1/2hr and now he does 1.5hrs in the morning (11-12:30) and then a short 1/2hr nap (4-4:30). I was worried about it having an impact on bedtime (7:30) but it has made everything better and he will take his arvo nap now and it also helped to stretch his nighttime sleep.
I know you can’t make this adjustment if your afternoon nap is the long one though.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
