Dye Stealer? Help an anxious first time mama.

Hi there!! I know how scary this can be, I had a chemical pregnancy last month before getting pregnant again this month. A couple things to consider, you could have ovulated later, so you might not be as far along as you think. Have you taken multiple tests or is this your first one? Would you feel comfortable sharing a picture of your test??

I threw away the one from today. I took 2 tests the day I found out (at 4 weeks). I got a faint line on the first one (using second morning urine) and the word pregnant on a digital, taken mid-day. I tested again this past friday or Saturday with a digital and it also said pregnant.

It’s good that the digital said pregnant! However, for my first pregnancy, my lines never got darker and I ended up having a chemical. I’ll post a comparison of the tests from my chemical vs my current pregnancy for you to see.

I have heard of something called the hook effect where there could be too much HCG for the test to read.

You can do HCG testing on your own through labcorp if that might give you peace of mind. It’s called “on demand” tests and its $49. I got my results back in less than 24 hours.
