Early baby!

Due on the 14th of October but decided to arrive today 11th of September.
He loved causing trouble. Came in yesterday evening to him being head down then he decided to do a 180 flip and became breached but I was in labour so had to have a C-Section.
He arrived at 1:27am weighing 6lbs 1oz but then his heart rate dropped as well as his oxygen levels. The amazing team we had managed to bring the levels back up and his heart rate, I gave him a quick cuddle and a kiss and he went off to the Special Care Baby Unit.
Went to see him this morning and he was still on oxygen but at a low flow, when the doctors came by they said he could come off the oxygen as he was breathing nicely on his own. I finally got to have the biggest cuddle with my tiny little boy this afternoon! Now waiting for them to bring him down to the ward that I’m on.
I am so grateful for the wonderful team I had during my labour and C-Section! They were so so supportive and caring.
Thank you Royal Berks!💙💙

Aw congratulations! So big for a month early! Can’t imagine what he would have been full term haha.

Avatar

We’re you having contractions and what not and what’s what caused you to have him?

Avatar

thank you. Yes everyone was double checking his weight to make sure it was right aha. He weighs some but he’s tiny. I was having somewhat period type pains but didn’t feel like contractions (previously not long had baby number 1) so was just told to come and get checked over. To then be told at around 11 I had gone from 1cm dilated to 2 and that he had flipped to the breached position. We don’t believe anything caused me to go into labour this early apart from he just wanted to make himself known 😂 x

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
