Hey I just wanted to know about how much you give your little one to eat in a day? I spoke to the health visitor and she said portion sizes should be no more than the palm of your hand. My girl has never been a big eater so I get concerned

If she’s eating enough. She usually has a toast in the morning or eggs and then lunchtime cheese or a bagel or fish fingers dippers chips then dinner chicken and potatoes or potato waffles but it’s never loads and she hardly finishes food. The health visitor didn’t seem concerned though and her weigh in isn’t for a couple of months yet although she’s turned 2 end of august

Be responsive to your child, if they are a big eater then portions are going to be bigger within reason. All children are different and as long as they are thriving there is no point in comparing what they eat to another child, my boy goes through phases of hardly eating and then all of a sudden always hungry but he’s happy and healthy and that’s all that matters 😄

My son always eats quite a bit for brekkie (handful of fruit, rusk biscuit, small bowl of cereal/slice of toast) he'll then from half 11 onwards snack on his lunch whenever he fancies it (sandwich/pitta/or a homemade fish cake or pea cake, egg on toast that kind of main.).then a handful of fruit, handful of cucumber or pepper, a yogurt, mini cheddars or crackers...he's usually finished this by 2ish and then dinner will be around 4/5 depending if he's napped and it'll be a child's bowl size or a full child plate size of food, sometimes he'll eat it all sometimes he'll pick it, sometimes he'll have desert, sometimes have desert before dinner ..he definitely eats more than a handful per meal if that's what the hv meant but he is a big boy..not overweight but stocky and tall ang gets seriously hangry if it's not ready on time.

My daughter definitely eat mores than the size of my palm 🤣 especially if its pasta or chicken. She is good though in the fact she'll stop eating for a bit and then continue if still hungry, and she also tells us when shes finished

Going back to work!

Already thinking about this! Told my boss I was pregnant this week at 10 weeks, he was so happy for me. He’s recently became a first time Dad and was showing me pictures of his baby. I told him my plans about going back after 6 months and he looked at me like I was mad, am I!? I absolutely love my job and cannot imagine giving it up, I manage a team and am petrified my position won’t be there if I had a year off. My husband gets 6 months full pay so the plan would be for him to have the last 6 months off and I also made it clear to my boss that I would like to go part time. That way we can hopefully parent together 4/7 days rather than just the weekend! I am such an overthinking! 🤣 but this is what I’m struggling with the most, I’ve worked full time since I was 17 (12 years ago) and the max time I’ve had off in one go is 2 weeks when I got married. I’m sooo excited to be a Mum and we decided now was the right time, which it 100% is! But I feel so on edge about not working! I’m sure once I’m on maternity leave I won’t even think about work! Has anyone else felt the same?

What are we giving our soon-to-be 3yo for their birthdays?

We have the magnetiles, we have the kinetic sand and play doh, we have the play kitchen…

Literally, is there anything left in the world to buy this spoilt kid? 😅

Baby groups?

Hello there!!
I hope you enjoying the 5month babies 🫠 the cuteness outweighs everything over here.
We live in the area of Croydon & need to start going to baby groups ( I NEED it more than him though) but I am a little bit clueless. Any recommendations?
We are happy to travel a bit too.
Thanks ☺️

Is it just me?

I’m 35. I have a 21 month old and i’m 5 months pregnant. I have no friends. Everyone has either drifted away or ghosted me. I don’t know what i’ve done but i’m so lonely now. My best friend of 20 years has ghosted me and i’m heartbroken. I’ve tried to reach out to other friends but never get anywhere. I don’t know how to make new friends. I honestly just feel so alone.
