This week I transitioned my 8 month old into her own cot in her bedroom. She has never been a great sleeper, however since being in her own room it’s got even worst! She will wake up and scream the second I put her down and if do manage to get her to stay asleep, she wakes up 30 minutes later. She’s fine laying in the cot during the day, but will not stay in there at night. She won’t sleep in there at all regardless of wether I stand by the cot or leave the room. Has anyone else had any experience with this? What did you do to make the transition easier?
(( My baby is unable to fall asleep independently and I need to nurse her in order to get her to sleep. ))

Following as I’m having the same issues. My girl won’t fall asleep independently either it’s hard going 🥲
messaged you 🩷

My 8 month wouldn’t slee in her cot either during the day or at night. She loves comfort sleeping 😩

This probably isn't helpful but I honestly do think, in they're own way, they tell you when they're ready to transition to their own cot.
My LG was a contact napper AND cosleeper (and i mean would NOT even entertain being put in a next to me crib, moses basket, anything) and for the first 6 months that's all we did with her.
Then she started getting restless on me during contact naps and waking up earlier so I thought "I wonder" tried her in her cot in her own room and she's been in there for naps ever since! The same thing happened with her nighttime sleep - she was wriggling non-stop in our bed, almost like she couldn't get comfy and lo and behold she slept beautifully in her cot overnight.
My advice would be to just try transitioning her every day and be patient with yourself and her. If it doesn't work just try again the next day and eventually there will come a day where it sticks. A friend told me "they won't be 15 years old still sleeping in the same room as you!" 😂
