So my partner is currently working full time. Where as Im unemployed and have been since November 2022. After my maternity was up with my first born. I decided not to go back to work and instead stay at home to look after my little one. Money wasn’t an issue back then. But now the cost of living is increasing etc, money is getting tight.
Other than universal credit, is there any other help I could receive? Like maternity pay?

You should be able to claim statutory maternity pay and also child benefit x
, ah no! I don’t think I’ll be entitled to maternity allowance either. And with partners working etc like you say not everyone is entitled to universal credit, which is very annoying🙄😩
I can’t claim statutory because I don’t work. And can’t claim child benefit until baby is here x

If you’re on UC you can get the sure start grant (£500 one off) and healthy start card for fruit veg and milk - it’s not a lot I only get around £16 a month put on my card but every little helps when we’re not working
I’m not in universal credit. But think I will apply for it. I can’t get get the grant because this is my first baby. I’ll look into UC and healthy start card Thankyou x

Hi there, would you consider selling children’s books? You could do online exclusively, or mix up with some stalls at events/fairs. You’d be making a difference to the literacy of children in your area whilst earning some money for yourself and free brilliant books for your little one.
